If you thought Cancun only had spring brake and paris hilton doing blow at her hotel room you are way wrong, it also has this awesome person and cowriter of this blog delivering sweet hiphop/rap/punk songs.
This Demo shouldn't seem unusual to this blog, this is as punk as the next band.
When I first heard this I was mindblowned I had no idea Gaston could rap and I had no idea it would be good. As you listen to it you can tell some beats are rancid songs.
You don't know spanish? trust me its fucking good, his lyrics talk about records, pizza, veganism, anarchists, punk rock and being a punk kid in mexico, booking shows, romero zombies, getting a bloody nose at a show and a million other things I can relate to. "una cancion de boom boom kid"

Si pensabas que Cancún solo tiene spring brake y Paris Hilton haciendo lineas de coca en su cuarto de hotel estas equivocadx, también tiene esta persona increíble y con quien comparto este blog haciendo canciones de hiphop/punk/rap chingonas.
Este demo no debería parecerte extraño para este blog, ya que es tan punk como cual quiero otra banda.
Cuando escuche esto por primera vez me sorprendí, para empezar no sabia que Gaston podía rapear y no tenia idea de que realmente seria bueno.
Confía en mí este demo esta bien chingon, sus letras hablan de discos, pizza, veganismo, anarquistas, punk rock y ser un/a punk en México, hacer tocadas, zombies de Romero, tener tu nariz ensangrentada en una tocada y un millón de otras cosas con las cuales te puedes sentir identificadx. Ultimamente he estado en la búsqueda de las bandas mexicanas que más me gustan. Cuando empecé este blog hice una lista en mi mente de las bandas que me quería subir, Nazareno El Violento estaba definitivamente en la lista, ya que pienso que son una de las mejores bandas en la escena punk Mexicana últimamente .

Hard-ons with Neil Hamburger split 7inch

Man what can I say? when I first heard about this 7inch coming out I was really curious, I'm a big fan of the Hard-ons and I'm a bigger fan of their 7inches since they are all real funny. But honestly I didn't knew what to expect with this one. Was it going to be some hard-ons songs and some comedy? is it going to be good? am I going to listen to it more than once? Well to my surprise it is good, with Neil hamburger on vocals and hard-ons on instruments well it makes perfect sense, its really fun punk with funny lyrics (well duuh)
I know I haven't talked much about the covers/art in this blog, wish makes no sense me being who I am, but I can't let this one go, Six Pack lp parody? FUCK YEAH! I love how they worked and changed everything to make it their own, to the obvious painted dick, the Neil hamburger drawing and the hamburger black flag bars. All I can say is its fucking awesome!

Wey, ¿qué puedo decir? cuando me enteré de que este 7inch iba a salir tenia mucha curiosidad al respecto, siendo fan de los Hard-Ons y siendo aun mas fan de sus 7inchs ,ya que todos son muy chistosos y divertidos. Pero honestamente no sabía que esperar de éste. Va a ser algunas canciones de Hard-ons y algo de comedia? va a estar bueno? lo voy a escuchar más de una vez? Bueno, para mi sorpresa es bueno, con Neil hamburguer como vocal y Hard-ons en los instrumentos, tiene perfecto sentido, es punk realmente divertido con letras divertidas (obvio duuh)
Sé que no he hablado mucho acerca de las portadas/arte en este blog, cosa que no tiene sentido siendo yo quien soy, pero tengo que hablar de esta, parodia del Six Pack lp? AHUEVO! Me encanta la forma en que trabajaron y cambiaron todo para hacerla suya, desde la obvia verga pintada, el dibujo de Neil hamburguer y la hamburguesa enforma de las barras de Black Flag. Todo lo que puedo decir es mierda esta bien chingon!

Bueno como lo dije antes, hicimos este blog porque quería que la gente de México escuchara a bandas de los EE.UU. y EE.UU. bandas de Mexico. Qué mejor banda para subir hoy New Creases, que para mi son la mejor banda de pop/punk de Ohio.

E-150/Darkside of Soul Split 7inch

Another 2 great bands and another great 7inch.
Both bands from Spain, E-150 is a hardcore/crust/punk band and Dark side of Soul is super emotional and strong hard core/screamo.
As much as I like E-150 I think the Dark Side of Soul side is so much better, their melodic parts are as good as their fast parts, the way to mix it in its perfect, to me it makes total sense.
Darkside of Soul was around for late 90s (1997-1999)
I will be posting more of this bands in the future, so if you like them keep reading us.

Ambas bandas de España, E-150 es hardcore / crust / punk y Darkside of Soul Screamo/hardcore muy emocional y fuerte
Por mucho que me guste E-150 Creo que el lado de Darkside of Soul es mucho mejor, las partes melodicas son igual de buenas que las rapidas y la manera de mezclarlo es perfecta, para mí tiene total sentido.
Darkside of Soul existio a finales de los 90s (1997-1999)
Voy a publicar más de estas bandas en el futuro, a si esque si les gusta sigan leyendonos.

Off With Their Head - In Desolation

In life there are times you can’t understand thing unless you experience them. I remember once my older brother told me he didn’t believe in depression, I was short of slapping him across the face and it’s a good thing I didn’t cuz motherfucker is huge. The truth is he wasn’t completely wrong; for a person who has never suffered from depression this can come out as appearing that the person suffering from it don’t want to deal with his/her problems or even in some scenes kids just think its “cool”. Truth is depression sucks big fucking time, I’ve been depressed probably since the beginning of the year and even though I’m getting better thanks to family, friends, therapy and music I’m pretty ashamed of me for not using those feelings to write music as fucking accurate as the one Ryan Young wrote for the new Off with their heads album In Desolation.

First time I heard this band I didn’t like them at all, it took me seeing them live to understand how truly great they were and it was a plus that their drummer Francis was kind enough to give me a ride from St. Paul to Minnesota without knowing me. After properly analyzing their then last record “From The Bottom” I thought -this band its fucking awesome but I don’t know If I should be listening to something so negative on a daily basis without it ruining my day. Fast-forward a really shitty year Off with their heads got signed to epitaph and their record came out. I heard a couple of songs before its release that sounded just the way everyone expected... then I heard the whole thing and It blew me away. I still don’t know if this is their best record to date, it might sound pretty much the same in pretty much every song, even though the topics on the track list might change the album is solely about being fucking crushed, wanting to be alone and die and its fucking perfect. If I had tried to write down the last 6 months of my life I wouldn’t have been able to write something so precise, all the self alienation, the insecurity, the regret, the need for people but the fear of pity it’s all in there and didn’t came with an elegant way of saying it nor it minded to be repeated in the following song.

And that thing that had me worried on their last record about ruining my day, well, its fucking gone. I hear this record and I remember every single thing I have gone through and smile cuz at the end of the day If I’m still here is because life is worth living, but there are some major off with their heads days when being optimistic won’t do and you need this songs to cope with being who you are and get shit done.

Get this record If your life sucks, if not you won’t appreciate it.

This band started about 3 and a half years ago and they hold a especial place in my heart not only because they are so great sounding but also the vocalist is my best friend.

Amo esta banda, creo que su música ha mejorado mucho desde la primera vez que los escuché, punk-screamo energético con guitarras melódicas.
Esta banda comenzó hace 3 años y medio y tienen un lugar especial en mi corazón, no sólo porque su música es muy chingona, sino también el vocalista es mi mejor amigo.

Latterman - No Matter Where We Go

I was trying really hard to find a band that would fit for a perfect first post on this entry (mine not Ana’s who already posted like 400* bands on the two days that it’s be on) and while driving this morning I played this album on my way to work and it really hit me. To me Latterman was what a positive band should really strive to be, right now in Mexico there’s a huge “positive hardcore” movement going on that to be honest I don’t swallow, not one bit, I know a lot of the guys in the bands and they don’t live their lives according to what they preach onstage through their generic lyrics and lame breakdowns, I’m not saying this for everyband aright? So keep the sweet talking for other time please! Now about Latterman, I really don’t know if they did live to to their lyric sheet, I don’t know the guys and there aren’t many interviews around for me to make a clear judgment but if there is something certain is that every time I listen to this record I want to be a better person and fuck it does make me feel better, If you ask me to compare them to another band I wouldn’t be able. For fuck sake they weren’t a band, on my book they were a fucking event! Really poppy with not-that-distorted guitars, mid tempo but really energetic drums and the whole band singing mostly at the same time, taking on topics like sexism, friendship, personal conflicts and everyday life but always under the “life is fucked but you gotta keep going “ mentality. Asking the audience to question their own upbringing and the consequences of this on today’s world. The band broke up leaving us with three great albums and the members went to do sweet band like Shorebirds, Iron Chic and Bridge and Tunnel.

Me estaba costando mucho trabajo encontrar una banda apropiada para mi primer post en este blog (no como a Ana quien a los dos días ya subió como 400* bandas) y mientras manejaba al trabajo puse este disco y me pego bien cabrón. Para mi Latterman tiene todo lo que una banda positiva debería tirarle a tener, hoy en día en México hay una ola de “hardcore positivo” que siendo honesto no me trago para nada, ¿Por qué? Porque conozco a la mayoría de las bandas que integran dichos grupos y sé que no viven acorde a lo que “predican” en el escenario entre sus breakdows de hueva. Aclaro que esto no va para todas las bandas, si te queda el saco póntelo y por favor nada de pegarme cuando me veas en un show. Ahora con respecto a Latterman, no sé si ellos si vivieron conforme a lo impreso en el lyric sheet de su disco, no los conozco y hay muchas pocas entrevistas en internet para formarme un criterio con respecto a ellos sin embargo si algo es seguro es que cada vez que escucho su disco me hacen querer ser una mejor persona y al chile el disco me hace sentir muy bien, si me pides que los compare con alguna banda la verdad no puedo. Viéndolo bien para mi Latterman no fue una banda fue un puto evento! Canciones muy poperonas con guitarras no muy distorsionadas, baterías mid tempo muy energéticas y toda la banda cantando casi siempre al mismo tiempo, sus canciones tocaban temas como el sexismo, la amistad, problemas personales pero siempre con una mentalidad de “todo está jodido pero tenemos que seguir”. Pidiéndonos que nos cuestionemos nuestra formación y la consecuencia que esta tiene en el mundo actual. Esta banda se deshizo dejándonos tres discos buenísimos y sus integrantes cada uno por su cuenta hicieron nuevas bandas buenísimas también como Shorebirds, Iron Chic y Bridge and Tunnel

Big Drill Car "cd type thing" (1989)

When I thought of uploading this record to the blog I thought well "Who hasn't heard them, or this record" to my surprise I found a couple of my friends not knowing who they were.

Huntington Beach, California, pop-punk, melodic hard core type band.

I've been obsessed with this record for the past 2 weeks, I can say hands down "Cd Type Thing" wish is there first album is my favorite Big Drill Car album.

To me they sound exactly what a pop-punk-hard core mid-80s-90s California band would sound like.

If you like bands like All and new Descendents you are definitely going to like this band.

Cuando pensé en subir este disco en el blog pensé "¿Quién no ha escuchado esta banda o este disco?" pero para mi sorpresa varios de mis amigos no sabian quien eran.
Huntington Beach, California, pop-punk, hard core-melodico.
He estado obsesionada con este disco para las últimas 2 semanas, y puedo decir que "Cd Type Thing" el cual fue su primer disco, es mi disco favorito de Big Drill Car.
Para mí suenan exactamente como espero que una banda de pop-punk-hard core de California a mediados de los años 80s-90s deberían sonar.
Si te gustan bandas como All y los últimos discos de Descendents definitivamente te va a gustar esta banda.

Ok so this is the first post of our blog, I thought of starting with great bands that I've been listening too this past days in Mexico. But since I'm here I should talk about one of my favorite Mexican bands, great friends of mine and their great last record.

Maladie from Tijuana, Mexico. Since I heard this band in 2007 I've been impressed with their music, great sounding, fast hard core, with well worked melodic parts and parts that remind me to old screamo.
In 2009, 2 years later this band puts out this record, coming back with a tighter and more defined sound.
Often I read about this band only from the musical part of it, to me this band is not only great for their sound but also their lyrics, wish are filled with great politics and feelings.I find that this things together make the perfect combination, wish is what makes Maladie such a great band.
This record comes with 11 songs, 500 records were pressed, 400 on black, 100 on blue.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ok pues este es el primer post de nuestro blog, pensé en iniciar con bandas que he estado escuchando demasiado ultimamente en México. Pero como estoy aqui no me quise ir muy lejos a si esque voy a hablar de una de mis bandas Mexicanas favoritas, muy buenos amigos míos y su último disco.

Maladie - selftitled


Maladie de Tijuana, México. Desde que escuché esta banda en el 2007 he estado impresionada con su música, gran sonido, hard core rapido, bien trabajado, con partes melódicas y partes que me recuerdan al screamo de los 90s.
En 2009, dos años más tarde sacan este disco, volviendo con un sonido mas preciso y definido.
Normalmente leo sobre esta banda sólo de la parte musical, para mi esta banda no solo es chingona por su sonido, sino también sus letras,las cuales estan llenas de ideales políticos y sentimientos.Para mi esto crea la combinación perfecta que hace de Maladie un gran banda y de este un gran disco.
Este disco viene con 11 canciones, 500 viniles fueron sacados, 400 en negro, 100 en azul

Yo creo que "Manos Estrechas" y "Muerte en la Tierra" son mis canciones favoritas de este disco.
